Kings Court is one of a number of schemes rejuvenating the area which will further provide residential, business and retail opportunities, together with the impressive expansion and redevelopment of Blackburn College.

The Kings Court Project includes renovation of the important historic building. It will see the building brought back to its former glory, bringing back into use 1360 square metres of workspace and creating 1095 square metres of new accommodation through a new extension to the rear.

The enterprise centre will be unique in Britain and Europe by providing support services to ensure inclusion of Deaf people within a fully commercial setting. The project is supported through the Blackburn with Darwen Council’s Townscape Heritage Initiative and the Town Centre Renaissance Programme. It includes funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund, North West Development Agency, European Regional Development Fund, Single Regeneration Budget and the East Lancashire Deaf Society.
