Kings Nursery is a town based nursery within walking distance from the train station, bus station and all the major car parks in Blackburn town centre.

Kings Nursery caters for children ages 2 months to 4 years. The range of development within this span is enormous.

All the work at Kings Nursery focuses on the foundation stage. This is a stage in a child’s life, and lasts until the end of the reception year at school. All children are encouraged to partake in activities based around the following key areas to ensure they have a solid foundation on which to build future progress:

  • Personal and social development
  • Communication, language and literacy
  • Mathematical development
  • Knowledge and understanding of the world
  • Physical development
  • Creative development

At Kings Nursery we strive to provide:

  • A happy safe and secure environment
  • An environment which is stimulating and challenging
  • An atmosphere of respect, tolerance and understanding of all races, cultures and beliefs
  • An environment to develop bilingual skills
  • Qualified nursery staff

Signing Environment

Kings Nursery workers are able to use sign language as well as spoken English. Baby signs are used with children to develop their communication skills. Using signs encourages bonding with parents and carers. This will benefit both Deaf and hearing children.
